Sad news

Over the last couple of weeks I have learnt that a very dear friend from my life before Exeter is gravely ill. We spent a significant amount of our childhood together, living extremely closely, being born only 1 month apart and attending the same playschool, school and church. His family are great friends of my family and we spent every new year together as we were growing up.

It troubles me greatly to hear how seriously ill he is right now confounded even more by his imminent wedding in just a few weeks time. He has several major operations on an extremely rare chordoma spinal cancer ahead of him within the next week or two. He is only 25 – 30 years younger than the average age that this cancer normally surfaces. This makes me realise how fortunate I am to be healthy.
